How To Deactivate Auto-Renewal On MTN, GLO, Airtel & 9mobile
It's so annoying when Your data finishes and it gets automatically renewed by your network provider just because you have sufficient airtime balance.
You may have planned to use that airtime for something else or even wanted to subscribe a higher or lower data plan, but you plan gets disrupted by Auto-Renewal, forcing you to continue with the same data plan.
In this post, I'll be teaching you on how you can deactivate automatic renewal of data plans on MTN, GLO, Airtel and 9mobile.

How To Deactivate Auto-Renewal On MTN
Firstly, you need to know that every MTN subscription plan comes with a unique number and the number can be found in the SMS sent to you whenever you successfully activate a data plan.
For instance, The number for MTN Daily data plan of 40mb for N50 is 114, while that of 100mb for N100 is 104
Once you are sure of the subscription number of your current data plan, then you can go ahead and deactivate auto renewal using the format below.
- Send the NO Plus Subscription number to 131.
- For example, to cancel auto-renewal on MTN daily data of 40mb, SMS "NO114" to 131
- you would receive a confirmation message from MTN that your request was successful.
How To Deactivate Auto-Renewal On GLO
If you are Glo subscriber, here is how to deactivate auto renewal on your line.
- Open your SMS
- Send CANCEL to 127
- You will receive a confirmation message that your request was successful
Make sure your data subscription is still active before requesting for deactivation of auto renewal, if not it won't work.
How To Deactivate Auto-Renewal On Airtel
To deactivate auto renewal on Airtel;
- Send STOP to 141, or
- Send STOPAUTORENEW to 440
- You will receive a confirmation message from Airtel that your request was successful
- Make sure you keep trying it till you get the confirmation message
How To Deactivate Auto-Renewal on 9mobile
If you use 9mobile, formerly known as Etisalat, here's how to deactivate auto renewal;
Text STOP to 229, or
Dial *229*0#
You will receive a confirmation message from 9mobile that your request was successful.
