Mega or Mega.nz is a cloud storage and file hosting service offered by Mega Limited, an Auckland-based company. The service is offered primarily through web-based apps. Mega mobile apps are also available for Windows Phone, Android and iOS. Mega is known for its large 50 GB storage allocation for free accounts.

As a free account user, there are various limits to your account as regards downloads and also some IP address locations are not allowed to download files more than once in a day, unless they upgrade to Pro. 

Previously, I used to think Mega was free without rigidity when it comes to uploading, downloading and sharing files. But the day I decided to use it to download a picture of size 59kb, I found out that I could only download it once. On my reattempt to download it again, I was taken a new page where I was notified about transfer quota limitation (as seen in the image below). Where I was asked to upgrade to Pro, and this will cost me money.  

I really needed the picture, because I mistakenly delete the first one I downloaded. While going through the reason for the limitation, I found out that it had something to do with IP address. That my IP address was among other IP s affected by the limitation. So I decided to mask my IP address to an entirely different location, in order to give the website IP scanner a false location.

How To Bypass Mega Download Limits

The tool required is a strong working vpn (paid vpn preferably) e.g Nord. If you can't afford a paid vpn you can make use of other free and strong vpn such as Windscribe or Tunnel bear. 

1. Download, install and launch any of the above vpn

2. Select any location that is different from your location and connect. I suggest you use United State.

3. Allow the app to run in background and make sure it doesnt get cleared by your phone booster or cleaner app. 

3. Open your browser and visit the Mega link you wish to download from. 

4. Click of the file you wish to download and it will be downloaded without any form of interruption.
